Pre-Conference Event for the Come to the Table Piedmont Conference
Join Lisa Valdivia and Maria Hitt for a daylong interactive training on the community organizing strategies needed to develop sustainable community gardens and other community-based food projects. Valdivia is an Extension Associate for the Community Garden Program at NC A&T State University. Hitt is a community health educator, organizer, and manager for the Growing Healthy Kids Community Gardens in Carrboro.
Learn skills for community organizing, asset-mapping and leadership development that will root your project in the community and keep members engaged. The training is capped at 30 people and suggested registration is $25 for the whole day. (Registration fee is sliding-scale.)
