Cooks Community Garden

We are a Community Garden located in North Charlotte, in the Mt. Island Community. The garden consists of 30 plots each roughly 10 feet by 10 feet. In addition the gardeners and other volunteers help maintain a 1/3 acre plot designed to grow food to provide free organic produce to those in need at no cost.  We also have a Egg Co-Op where people communally raise chickens for eggs.  Sign up at our website:

Cooks Community Garden aims to:

  • Support the community through positive engagement
  • Educate and encourage ideals surrounding gardening, nutrition and community.
  • To be accessible to the community at large, including those from low-resource backgrounds
  • Encourage a sense of community for all, regardless of faith, color, gender, ethnicity,  socio-economic stat
