Started in 1998, our garden is a three acre urban garden organized and operated by volunteers. The garden’s purpose is to grow fresh produce for the area food bank, Second Harvest Food Bank of NW NC. We grow between 6 and 10,000 lbs. of vegetables (tomatoes, onions, squash, corn, etc.) as well as melons (watermelon and cantaloupe) every year. We are located in the farm area of The Children’s Home.
