Swannanoans — young or old; experienced or novice — have a unique opportunity to “get back to the land” in the community garden, located on Clover Lane across from the Black Mountain Children’s Home. It was founded in 2013 and is co-managed by Sandy Drake and Maureen Dillow. The garden is manned by volunteers from Warren Wilson College, the community, local churches, summer camps, and local schools. The produce from this garden goes to Bounty and Soul for distribution through our community. The volunteers also help with the care and harvest of a neighboring apple orchard.
