The Seeds of Hope Community Garden at First Baptist Church Burnsville was started in the spring of 2013. Begun with just 6 raised box beds, church members began to grow produce for distribution at nearby Reconciliation House (a MANNA food bank facility) and at Good Eats soup kitchen at Higgins Memorial United Methodist Church right across the street from the garden. Now in its third growing season, the garden has 30 box beds and a children’s garden, and has welcomed several community partner organizations and individuals. The garden is open to the community at no charge. The majority of the food grown is donated for hunger relief.
