Working with the strengths of our community to address the fresh food needs of everyone.
The Lord’s Acre cultivates community not only from the ground up but also from the inside out. We seek to bring people together around a topic that affects us all - namely the growing, preparing, sharing, and enjoying of food. This is new territory! Though, in some ways it is old territory - the way many communities used to look.
Instead of simply growing food and giving it away, we are not afraid to wrestle with questions that go beyond food security and food justice, to the very core of what it means to be a neighbor and to love your neighbor. We believe that solutions are not in the hands of a few, but in bringing everyone to the table, especially those who are typically marginalized. Relationships are the key resource and that includes our relationship with the land.
There are many types of hunger.
Everyone is hungry for something.
Everyone has something to give.
